Privacy Policy — SleepCycle

Overview

SleepCycle ("the App") is a sleep cycle calculator that helps you find optimal bedtimes and wake-up times. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

SleepCycle does not require any account registration. Your sleep preferences and settings are stored only on your device — they never leave your phone.

Data We Collect

1. Automatically Collected Data

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data automatically:

Firebase Analytics	Understand how users interact with the App (e.g., which calculation mode is most used) to improve the experience.	App interaction events (e.g., tab switches), device information (OS version, device model), session duration, and approximate location (country-level only). No personally identifiable information is collected.
Google AdMob	Display advertisements within the App.	Device advertising identifier (Android AD ID), IP address, device type, and interaction with ads.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

❌ No account, name, email, or phone number
❌ No precise GPS location
❌ No contacts, calendar, photos, or files
❌ No sleep data, bedtimes, wake-up times, or cycle preferences (these stay strictly on-device)
❌ No health or fitness data

How We Use Data

The automatically collected data is used solely for:

Analytics — understanding which features are popular so we can improve the App
Advertising — serving relevant ads via Google AdMob to keep the App free

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

By using the App, you also agree to the data practices of these services.

Data Retention

On-device data (your sleep preferences and settings) is retained locally until you uninstall the App or clear app data.
Firebase Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google's data retention policies (typically up to 14 months for event-level data).

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Choices

Opt out of personalized ads: Go to your device Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization."
Reset your advertising ID: Go to your device Settings → Google → Ads → "Reset advertising ID."
Clear local data: You can clear all on-device data by uninstalling the App or clearing app data in your device Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on the App's store listing page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
